Everything is created twice!

Everything is created twice! And the first time is the most important!

💥  And no, I’m not talking about having to make something again before we messed up in the first place!

The twice is that we first have to create something in our minds before we bring it into reality.

I’d argue that the more clearly we can imagine it, the more likely we are to be able to bring it about successfully.

And, by doing so, we reduce the level of “trial and error” or “rework”.

This is true whether it’s something small we are planning to make, thinking about a holiday or a major transformation in our workplace.

Having a clear vision and ideas how to bring that about makes a huge difference, particularly when more people are involved:

✅  it gives a clear “aiming point” to set direction and provide constancy of purpose

✅  it motivates action, especially when all those involved in working towards the vision have a hand in creating it

✅  it keeps everyone aligned

✅  spending more time at this “first creation” stage, before lots of time and money is committed, will reduce the time and cost involved in the “second creation”

Yet, so often, we rush into “doing” before taking time to really put that clarity of vision in place.
